Nonprofits must pass the test

All elected Nonprofits must first pass our Giv Test. All qualified organizations will receive an annual gift on behalf of your organization.

 

Must be based locally, eg. nearby or same county

Must have high charity
audit ratings

Must have a clear and public charitable commitment

Cannot donate to politicians, PACs, or lobbyists


Common questions

 

Can I donate to a NPO out of my county?

  • Although we encourage local donations whenever possible, we do allow donations to go to nonprofits in other regions, as long as they don't donate to politicians, PACs or lobbyists.

Does the nonprofit need to be a 501c3?

  • No. You can choose your local school booster or sports club. It does not need to be a 501c3.

What does high audit ratings mean?

  • Charities with high ratings show donors how efficiently they apply their support, how well it has sustained its programs and services over time, and their level of commitment to accountability and transparency.

Can I elect my church to receive donations?

  • Yes, you're happy to choose relgiious organizations.

Can I change who I wish to donate to?

  • Yes. We encourage consistent donations to the same nonprofit, so they're able to budget against it on an annual basis. Although if you wish to change, email [info@givlocal.com] to request a new nonprofit election form.
